For you
Constant anxiety is not always a dramatic panic. It is often a background hum: jaw tight, sleep light, mind scanning for what you forgot. You can look ‘fine’ at work and still be on duty inside. That mismatch is lonely. People congratulate you for coping, which makes it harder to say you are not.
For one week, notice when it spikes — caffeine, a particular person, unread messages, late nights. You are not hunting a villain. You are collecting a map. Slow the out-breath. Reduce one input that is cheap to reduce. Tell one person a true sentence: “I’m running too tight.”
If this has lasted more than a few weeks, if it is in your body every day, or if you are shrinking your life to stay ahead of the feeling, that is enough reason to talk to a psychologist. You do not need a story that sounds serious enough. Adult counselling for anxiety is allowed to start with ‘I don’t know why.’
