Parenting
Emotional stability is not a child who never cries. It is a child who can be furious, frightened or disappointed and still find their way back. That skill is practised on a parent’s body long before it lives inside the child. If you rush to distract, threaten, or lecture while they are flooded, they learn that big feelings are emergencies. If you can stay — not perfectly, just mostly — they learn the feeling ends.
A useful sentence is short: “You’re angry. I’m here.” Then a boundary if one is needed: “I won’t let you hit.” You can hold both. Validation is not permission. The practical part is slowing your own voice. Children read your tempo more than your wisdom.
If meltdowns are daily, last a long time, or come with aggression, school refusal, or a child who seems to disappear inside themselves, it is worth a proper look. Sometimes it is temperament. Sometimes it is anxiety, ADHD, a learning struggle, or a home that has been under strain. Child psychology work starts with the pattern, not with blame.
